Our KRISTALL trekking tips

At Hotel Kristall we’re passionate hikers, too – and constantly on the lookout for extraordinarily wonderful tours. We’re always particularly delighted to be able to recommend very special walks and treks.

To the top of the Brunschkopf

The MENTAL-POWER-WAY guides hikers from Leutasch along Fludertal Valley, up the Wildmoosalm plateau and on to Brunschkopf summit. En route trekkers visit 12 stunning places that radiate a sense of absolute peace. The tour ends with a fantastic sweeping 270-degree view of the Seefeld region and the surrounding mountain chains.

Walking time: Approx. 3 – 3½ hours

KRISTALL tip: Visit the Wildmoosalm restaurant!

Wetterstein 3 plateaus tour

The car park at Stupfer marks the start of a steep climb of around 440 yards to the Wetterstein hut and the Wangalm plateau. From here, the Wurziger Steig hiking trail leads across the Hämmermoosalm pasture and back down to the starting point in the gorge.

Walking time: Approx. 3½ hours

KRISTALL tip: The best sweeping vista is enjoyed if you don’t take the short-cut to the Wetterstein hut.

Leutasch circuit hike

After walking alongside Lake Weidachsee and through the forests of Leutasch, the route crosses over to the other side of the valley. Here, the upper and lower field routes take walkers down through the narrow ‘Graben’ area to the Leutasch Ache river, and back down to HOTEL KRISTALL.

Walking time: Approx. 4 hours

KRISTALL tip: Enjoy a short break on the ‘Langlaufbank’, a bench made from old cross-country skis.

Seefelder Spitze peak

The cable car takes hikers up to the higher station at the Rosshütte on the Seefelder Joch (2060m). From here the route follows a narrow ridge up to the Seefelder Spitze peak at 2221m. The trekking route on the south side of the mountain brings walkers back to the Rosshütte. The descent from here can be made on foot or in the cable car.

Walking time: Approx. 2 hours

KRISTALL tip: Take a break and enjoy the view of the Karwendel Massif, the Seefeld region, the Inntal area and the Southern Alps.

RELAX AND ENJOY THE NATURAL SURROUNDINGS

Nordic Walking in Leutasch

Nordic walking originally developed as a form of training for professional cross-country skiers. The efficacy of this type of training soon won over a large community of enthusiasts, since it takes people out into the beauty of nature and allows the mind to wander. As is the case with cross-country skiing, it’s most effective and enjoyable in terrain with light gradients. So, obviously, Leutaschtal in Tyrol can guarantee perfect conditions. Nordic walking is ideal for everyone, from professional athletes to far less athletic visitors. The use of poles allows this style of walking to be a good form of training that also exercises upper-body muscles. At Hotel Kristall we offer free use of special carbon poles to ensure your Nordic walking training is easy on the joints and muscles.

A HEAVENLY PLEASURE

Running in Leutasch

There’s a special attraction to running up on the Seefeld Plateau at any time of day. In the early summer mornings, the air is pleasantly cool on the skin. The beauty of the first rays of sunshine appearing from behind the mountains is a natural spectacle that never ceases to fascinate. Once the highest point of a daytime run has been reached, there are views of areas far into the distance. An evening run along the valley or up the mountain is the perfect way to relax and wind down the day. The dense and broad network of paths and routes in the Leutasch area offers perfect opportunities to embark on longer jogs and mountain runs. Those seeking a sporting challenge should be aware that a number of the best-known running events are staged in the area.

A VERY ENJOYABLE WAY TO TRAVEL

Segway rides in Tyrol

Our Segways are an enjoyable and unusual way of exploring the Leutaschtal countryside. This revolutionary means of transport is an exciting and pleasant way of seeing mountain roads, plateaus and valley floors. Every day, to ensure you find lots of interesting places to visit, we organise guided Segway tours of the Leutaschtal region. Every Wednesday there’s the opportunity to participate in an offroad Segway tour. We ride in a group along the shore of the Weidachsee, through the local forests, and uphill to Oberleutasch. The upper and lower Wiesenweg field route leads through the rift to Kirchplatzl, and along the bank of the Leutascher Ache tributary back to Weidach.

MOUNTAIN-BIKING & MOUNTAIN CYCLING

Cycling in Seefeld

In the summertime, a pleasant and relaxed cycling tour will reveal some of the many beautiful sights to be enjoyed on the Seefeld Plateau, whatever kind of bicycle you prefer. Enjoy the variety a cycling experience brings in such a green and natural environment. We are always happy to advise you on the ideal journey of discovery for you in the local area. E-bikes offer a very comfortable, enjoyable and, nevertheless, sporty way of exploring the local surroundings – on a tour of the hillsides, alpine plateaus and lodges, visiting the surrounding mountain lakes, or rolling easily along the valley floor. E-bikes enable couples and groups to ride on tours together who wouldn’t normally all be able to manage the hills without an electric boost. Even if no-one has brought a bike, start straight from the hotel by taking out our city bikes, conventional mountain bikes or e-mountain bikes.
