Cycling in Tyrol

The biking paradise in the Leutasch Valley

When it comes to cycling in the Alps, many people immediately think of mountain biking. In Tirol, however, leisure cyclists and families also get their money's worth on a cycling vacation.

Cycling in the Leutasch Valley

To get on your bike in a carefree and uncomplicated way without having to worry about arduous climbs - that's what Tyrol's idyllic cycle trails are all about for pleasure cyclists, families and the e-bikers among us. On the more than 920 kilometers of cycle trails, leisure cyclists and families get their money's worth. In the valleys and on some hills, there are numerous routes without major inclines. Many of them lead along rivers, through idyllic and unspoilt landscapes. The best infrastructure is offered in particular by the twelve top regions for leisure cyclists, including cyclist-friendly accommodation, e-bike hire stations, free bike shuttles and repair services. If you want to experience something special on your summer vacation in Tyrol, you should go on a culinary bike tour.

Tyrol and the Leutasch also have a very good network of cycle paths and cycle routes, as all of the country's main towns are connected. Due to the largely low gradient of the cycle paths, they are just as popular with cyclists as they are with locals: Tyrol's cycle paths for everyday and leisure cycling are partly well asphalted or run along well-maintained gravel paths. In sections they follow country lanes or cross the village centers along village roads with little traffic. For an unforgettable experience during your bike vacation in a wellness hotel, stay in a hotel with an infinity pool.

If you bring your bike or mountain bike with you, you are welcome to store it in our underground garage free of charge. If you come without a bike, you can borrow a city bike from Hotel Kristall free of charge. E-mountain bikes can also be rented for a fee of € 35,- per day.

Varied landscape.

Cycle tour through the Leutasch Valley

This easy and, above all, barrier-free cycle tour takes you 26 kilometers through the beautiful and varied landscape of the Leutasch Valley - a high valley at around 1,200 meters above sea level. Here you will not only be amazed by nature, but also by the breathtaking mountain scenery, such as the Hohe Munde (2,690 meters) and the Ahornspitz (2,200 meters). Fortunately, there is very little traffic at this hotel, so the roads are easy to cycle along without any problems.

The starting point is the parking lot in front of the Alpenbad Leutasch and from there you take the bridge onto the Landesstraße in the direction of Weidach. Turn left and continue in the direction of Mittenwald. Follow a relatively easy gradient to Gasthof Brücke, turn back there and continue on the road towards Gaistal, a slight ascent towards Moos, round the meadows and farms of the village of Moos and back to the Alpenbad, whereby in Gasse the road through the village of Gasse is definitely the nicer option. The entire route is asphalted.
